Information Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Monitor and assess security events utilizing SIEM tools to identify and address threats in real-time.

• Investigate security incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings for remediation and reporting purposes.

• Oversee the complete vulnerability lifecycle across enterprise systems, including the identification of security weaknesses, risk assessment and prioritization, coordination of remediation efforts, and validation of resolved issues.

• Collaborate closely with IT and business teams to ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities based on risk, impact, and relevant threat intelligence.

• Analyze logs from endpoints, servers, network devices, and cloud platforms to detect suspicious activities.

• Support incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery processes.

• Manage vendor security assessment reviews to facilitate informed decision-making regarding third-party engagements.

• Engage in threat hunting initiatives to proactively uncover hidden threats within the environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related IT position.

• Practical experience in monitoring and responding to security events using a SIEM platform such as Splunk or a similar tool.

• Experience with incident response processes, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts.

• Demonstrated experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable or Nessus.

• Proficient in analyzing logs from endpoints, servers, network devices, and cloud services.

• Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools and network security technologies, including firewalls and IDS/IPS.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of five years of relevant practical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred security certifications, including CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or an equivalent qualification.
