Information Security Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of existing security solutions.

• Establish and manage firewall access control lists.

• Set up and maintain Identity Access Management along with auditing procedures.

• Address security-related support inquiries and tickets.

• Install and maintain video surveillance systems.

• Set up and manage Building Access Control systems.

• Investigate and resolve security breaches identified by these systems.

• Contribute to the deployment of new security solutions.

• Assist in the development and/or upkeep of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and audits.

• Proactively strive to uphold the organization's security objectives as outlined in its policies, procedures, and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma or university degree in Computer Science or two years of equivalent work experience.

• One or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security, or Associate of (ISC)2.

• Extensive hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, security incident and event monitoring (SIEM) solutions, Multifactor Authentication (MFA), and other industry-standard techniques and practices.

• Solid technical knowledge of networks, PCs, mobile devices, and operating systems.

• Familiarity with Microsoft/Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, and M365/O365 services.

• Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and various network administration protocols.

• Awareness of relevant practices and regulations concerning data privacy and protection.

• Experience in analyzing system and event logs from devices and systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, SIEM solutions, MFA, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft O365/Azure Security, Compliance, and Privacy dashboards.
