Information Security Analyst – Defense Engineering, Akamai WAF

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Configure and support the safeguarding of new applications on Akamai WAF, including policies, rules, exceptions, domains, and environments;

• Implement modifications, policy updates, parameter settings, and ongoing improvements for applications that are currently secured;

• Engage in war rooms to investigate false blocks, deliver technical incident assistance, and oversee sensitive changes in production;

• Comprehend requests submitted via ServiceNow/Slack, evaluate their impact, and execute the necessary configurations in the consoles;

• Audit outdated policies and objects, and manage logical access, users, and APIs within the Akamai Control Center;

• Collaborate with partner companies on technical and operational issues and provide supplementary support in the AWS WAF environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline or a relevant specialization in Information Security;

• Strong mid-level experience in administering, technically operating, and supporting WAF (Web Application Firewall) solutions, preferably Akamai;

• In-depth understanding of web application security, HTTP/HTTPS traffic analysis, and network protocols;

• Practical experience in troubleshooting applications, identifying false positives, and modifying blocking policies;

• Familiarity with change management processes (ITIL) and active participation in war rooms;

• Knowledge of and experience with AWS WAF;

• Technical certifications related to Akamai or cloud application security (AppSec);

• Awareness of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and WAF-based mitigation strategies;

• Experience managing support tickets using tools like ServiceNow.
