Informatics Technical Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist Abbott Core Lab Informatics and AlinIQ Digital Health Solutions.

• Lead or provide support for software implementation, integration, and verification activities at customer locations.

• Facilitate connectivity between laboratory instruments, LIS, and IT environments.

• Perform software installations, testing, training, and go-live support.

• Diagnose technical issues remotely and on-site as necessary.

• Act as the primary technical resource for customers, field service teams, and project teams.

• Offer Level 1 and Level 2 technical support and resolution of issues.

• Collaborate with project managers, laboratory personnel, IT teams, and customer stakeholders throughout implementations.

• Manage multiple projects while ensuring customer expectations and deadlines are met.

• Collect customer requirements and assist in designing scalable informatics and automation solutions.

• Work with global support teams to address complex technical challenges.

• Contribute to sales and business growth by providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise.

• Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to identify customer needs and aid in product enhancements.

• Uphold compliance with the Abbott Code of Business Conduct, and support initiatives for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 0–2 years of relevant IT technical application experience is required.

• Familiarity with laboratory workflows and operations is essential.

• Exceptional communication, organization, project management, and attention to detail skills.

• Strong understanding of general networking concepts.

• Knowledge of server technologies and associated services.

• Familiarity with workstation and desktop technology.

• Understanding of internet protocols and remote connectivity.

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server (NT/2000/XP/2k3).

• Strong IT, networking, and software troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to establish relationships with customers and cross-functional teams.

• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, medical technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience with ADD’s instrument systems is highly advantageous.

• A background as a medical technologist is ideal; experience in other laboratory environments is acceptable.

• Additional experience in hospital or laboratory information systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of virtual servers, corporate virus protection products, backup systems, firewalls, and VPN client and tunnel technologies.

• Education or experience in medical technology or clinical laboratory science; ASCP; CLS (NCA) is desirable.
