This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provides guidance and medical care for primary health services, general practice, and emergency situations in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice.
• Completes RMI and client reporting obligations as specified within each individual project and/or client.
• Exhibits exceptional attention to detail concerning patient assessments, as this role functions as an independent and remote professional communicating via telephony with supervising physicians.
• Performs medical escort duties as necessary.
• Ensures medical center facilities are maintained in line with RMI and prevailing standards.
• Represents RMI professionally at all times.
• Keeps current with professional certifications as required for assigned projects.
• Performs additional duties as needed.
• Conducts patient interviews regarding current issues, medications, and allergies, and reviews electronic health records for relevant historical and current information.
• Maintains regular communication via telephony and internet with physicians and Advanced Practitioners to establish a treatment course for specific conditions.
• Engages in patient treatment plans, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician via telemedicine consultation).
• Establishes and documents patient treatment plans in the electronic health record under the oversight of the remote physician and executes treatment.
• May occasionally travel off-site using a company vehicle to address requests for service for minor ailments and workplace injuries as required by the client.
• Administers routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and visual acuity testing, as well as performs and interprets tests when permitted.
• Conducts various clinical tasks as instructed after appropriate physician-led training (e.g., steri-strip wound covering).
• Maintains sufficient inventory of examination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the start and end of the day, as well as between patient interactions.
• Handles various office responsibilities: answers phone calls, takes messages, and performs triage within the scope of practice accurately and promptly.
• Aids in the coordination of patient referrals.
• Participates in the orientation and training of new staff.
• Current certification/license as a state-licensed Paramedic.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, or 4,160 hours, at the current license level that will be practiced in the field.
• Prior experience in industrial environments with knowledge of OSHA regulations is preferred but not required.
• Current BLS, CPR with AED at the medical rescuer level.
• Current state license in the respective discipline.
