This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of UK VAT returns, including the consolidation of VAT groups.
• Prepare and review Irish VAT returns, with an expectation of expanding responsibilities to additional jurisdictions in the future.
• Manage the coordination, review, and submission of overseas VAT returns for UK entities through external advisors.
• Ensure VAT returns are backed by solid reconciliations, clear audit trails, and appropriate documentation.
• Take ownership of VAT GL control reconciliations, ensuring prompt resolution of reconciling items.
• Contribute to UK SAO compliance by supporting control documentation and evidence requirements.
• Assist with VAT audits and inquiries from tax authorities, liaising with advisors as necessary.
• Lead initiatives to enhance VAT data quality and automation, collaborating closely with Oracle, Finance Systems, and shared service teams.
• Drive improvements in VAT reporting processes, controls, and documentation.
• Act as a primary user for VAT automation, reporting, and data manipulation tools (e.g., Excel, Alteryx).
• Provide technical advice on UK VAT to finance, commercial, supply chain, and project teams.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations related to indirect tax, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Legal, Commercial, and Shared Services.
• Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and third-party service providers.
• Provide functional leadership to direct reports, where applicable.
• Facilitate training and knowledge-sharing initiatives across AP, AR, and shared service teams.
• Hold a degree qualification.
• Qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser (or equivalent) or Chartered Accountant (or equivalent).
• Possess strong technical knowledge of UK Indirect Tax practices and legislation.
• Have practical experience with Indirect Tax compliance requirements in other jurisdictions.
• Proficient in utilizing ERP/Accounting systems for managing Indirect Tax (preferably Oracle).
• Skilled in data management and proficient in Excel and other data manipulation tools like Alteryx.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing UK VAT returns and handling complex data sets.
• Familiarity with a complex ERP system, preferably Oracle.
• Capable of providing advice on indirect tax matters in either a practice or industry role.
• Conduct research and provide insights on indirect tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships effectively with both internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Thrive under pressure and adhere to demanding timelines.
• Identify risks and know when to escalate concerns.
• Work effectively across diverse cultures, fostering a global mindset.

• Experience in the Oil and Gas sector is desirable.
• Familiarity with managing Indirect Tax compliance in other jurisdictions is desirable.
