HVAC/Refrigeration Project Manager – Retail, Grocery Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct HVAC and refrigeration projects across multiple locations, including the installation of equipment, system retrofits, and maintenance programs within operational stores.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding all mechanical (HVAC/R) project scopes, fostering robust relationships and ensuring stakeholder alignment.

• Serve as the expert in HVAC/Refrigeration, guaranteeing adherence to best practices, optimal system performance, and compliance with regulations at all locations.

• Represent the owner by facilitating coordination among franchisees, general contractors, architects, and vendors.

• Track project advancements to ensure that schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are met.

• Evaluate construction documents, scopes of work, and contractor bids.

• Oversee change orders, budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting.

• Guide the completion of punch lists and project closure.

• Deliver consistent project updates and proactive risk management.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in construction project management, particularly focused on HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.

• Demonstrated experience in managing HVAC and refrigeration installation, replacement, or maintenance programs (mandatory).

• Familiarity with retail and/or grocery environments, especially within active, operational stores.

• Experience in overseeing multi-site rollouts or program-based construction projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems (including rack systems, cases, walk-ins), and controls/EMS.

• Excellent client-facing communication skills with the capacity to influence and establish trust.

• Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient knowledge of construction management tools such as Procore, Smartsheet, Buildertrend, or similar platforms.
