HVAC Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct field service maintenance and urgent repairs on telecommunication and data center HVAC equipment.

• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems.

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance tasks.

• Address emergency service requests promptly.

• Work with systems from Marvair, Bard, Carrier, Trane, Goodman, McLean, and outside air economizers.

• Be part of a rotating on-call team available for emergency calls 24/7.

• Travel daily to job sites and work autonomously.

• Interpret wiring schematics and troubleshoot refrigeration and electronic control circuits using monitoring tools.

• Fix field-related problems effectively.

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, reporting, and commentary reflecting field circumstances.

• Follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and facility safety guidelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Completion of HVAC school with a minimum of 200 hours.

• A valid current driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.

• Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate required.

• 150 hours of Electrical Code training.

• 4000 work hours for Level I and Level II positions; 6000 work hours for Level III positions.

• Valid EPA certification is necessary.

• For Level II, 20 hours of Continuing Education Training is required.

• For Level III, 80 hours of Continuing Education Training and/or passing the NATE Service (CHP-5) certification test is required.

• Willingness to work nights and weekends as part of a rotating on-call team for 24/7 emergency response.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and the ability to troubleshoot and service commercial equipment under 10 tons.

• Strong ability to learn new technologies and system controls.

• Capability to travel daily to job sites and work independently.

• Proficiency in reading and comprehending wiring schematics.

• Diagnostic skills for basic refrigeration and electronic control circuits.

• Dexterity to resolve field issues using monitoring tools.

• Professional communication abilities.

• Aptitude for providing accurate and timely documentation, reporting, and commentary.

• Basic computer skills are required.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

• Compliance with assigned location PPE requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, protective clothing, shields, and closed-toed or safety shoes.
