This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Perform forensic investigations and analyze cases related to human performance and behavior in transportation and accident-related events.
• Examine case materials, including crash documentation, onsite evidence, and environmental elements to evaluate human behavior and decision-making in transportation incidents.
• Create comprehensive written reports and expert opinions based on human factors principles, peer-reviewed studies, and recognized scientific methodologies.
• Offer expert witness testimony during depositions and trials, simplifying complex human factors concepts into understandable and defensible viewpoints.
• Collaborate with legal teams to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses in cases, identify critical human-factor issues, and aid in formulating litigation strategies.
• Remain updated on research related to human factors, driver behavior science, fatigue studies, and pertinent industry standards.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of Human Factors.
• Ph.D. in Human Factors, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Human Performance and Cognition, or a closely related field.
• Significant experience in evaluating human capabilities and limitations, driver behavior, distraction, fatigue, visibility, and perception-reaction time.
• Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to implement scientific methods in practical incidents.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to clearly convey intricate concepts to attorneys, judges, juries, and non-technical audiences.
• Certification as a Human Factors Professional (CHFP) is highly preferred.
• Prior experience as an expert witness, including conducting investigations and preparing expert witness reports and testimony.
• Experience in trucking, transportation, roadway design, work zones, and other personal injury-related cases, such as slip, trip, and fall incidents.
• Dedicated case management and administrative support from initial client intake to billing and collections, enabling you to concentrate on delivering expert insights.
• Marketing and business development initiatives aimed at creating new case opportunities and enhancing your visibility within the legal industry.
