
Hotel Food Service Worker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Responsible for washing food service area items either manually or utilizing cleaning equipment.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and similar items, ensuring they are stored in designated areas in a neat and organized fashion.
• Engages in cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down all general food service spaces and equipment.
• Disposes of garbage from designated zones, and sets up or dismantles tables as required.
• May provide assistance to cooks or other staff as needed while coordinating personal activities with other food service tasks and demands.
• Prepares food products in a proper, safe, and efficient manner while adhering to standard food-handling protocols.
• Aids in various scheduled large cleaning projects as necessary.
• May oversee the maintenance of a range of products to certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas, including service machines.
• May replenish storage areas with various supplies.
• Additional duties that contribute to the success of the department or unit may be assigned.
• Some experience that illustrates a working knowledge of food preparation and/or experience with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, and other schedules as needed.
• Must obtain a Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience or training that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for and interest in this type of work is preferred.
