This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of positioning and launching communication strategies for new features, products, and corporate/community updates.
• Set engagement and business objectives for significant announcements and campaigns. Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to formulate KPI and measurement frameworks.
• Create campaigns, draft messaging frameworks and positioning presentations, and supervise the execution of communications (including writing, creative aspects, etc.).
• Identify key audiences and segments to concentrate on, and develop plans that align with these objectives.
• Collaborate with owners of one-way and two-way channels (Community Center, Resource Center, social media, CX, email) to establish editorial strategies and messaging, then manage campaign-related feedback to the business to inform decision-making.
• Create proactive and reactive communication strategies.
• Work with channel owners to report on essential reach and engagement metrics as well as relevant business metrics. Partner with the operations team to manage and distribute sentiment dashboards, both for specific announcements and on an ongoing basis.
• Advocate for the community and users in all decision-making processes.
• Supervise creative collaboration among product design, content strategy, community, and marketing teams.
• Function as both an individual contributor and a cross-functional leader.
• Over 10 years of experience in marketing or communications within a leading tech company or startup. Experience in platform or community-driven businesses is advantageous.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A robust writing background and editorial expertise are essential.
• Capable of translating intricate product features and complex community policies (such as reviews, fees, and cancellation policies) into clear, engaging narratives.
• Writing samples and/or a portfolio of work to present.
• Ability to lead and drive initiatives across a matrixed organization, solve problems, and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing through cross-functional teams.
• Knowledgeable in product strategy, design, and development principles and processes.
• Experience managing creative agencies and leading creative production.
• Conducted, synthesized, and applied user insights, research, and testing to inform marketing strategy.
• Passionate about Airbnb, with a preference for those who have experience as Airbnb hosts.
