This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Evaluates and assigns codes to patient records during hospitalist rounds and office consultations.
β’ Assesses when documentation is necessary for the correct allocation of ICD diagnosis codes.
β’ Ensures an accurate depiction of the patient's clinical situation, treatment, and diagnoses.
β’ Recognizes when documentation pertinent to the coding process is absent.
β’ Achieves established standards for coding accuracy and productivity.
β’ Stays informed about changes in coding and the industry by engaging in educational opportunities.
β’ High School Diploma/GED - Required.
β’ Associate's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred.
β’ 2 years of Coding experience - Required.
β’ Experience in Surgery Coding - Preferred.
β’ Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required.
β’ Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) within 180 days - Required.
β’ Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) within 180 days - Required.
