Hospice Clinical Compliance & Audit Associate Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform pre-bill clinical chart audits to ensure adherence to Medicare hospice regulations.

• Confirm documentation that supports terminal prognosis, eligibility, and level of care.

• Evaluate face-to-face encounters, certifications, and recertifications.

• Detect and escalate compliance risks prior to claim submission.

• Offer continuous education and guidance to Intake teams regarding eligibility and documentation standards.

• Ensure that eligibility criteria are thoroughly supported and documented.

• Collaborate with intake teams to address documentation gaps in real time.

• Conduct focused pre-bill audits in preparation for and in response to external audits.

• Monitor findings and recognize trends that require corrective action.

• Assist in the preparation, response, and coordination for external audits (including TPE-related activities).

• Track audit outcomes and identify trends.

• Maintain audit tools and reporting mechanisms.

• Communicate findings to leadership.

• Translate audit findings into actionable feedback.

• Aid in the development of educational materials.

• Partner with clinical leadership to enhance documentation practices.

• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Intake teams.

• Support audit readiness initiatives.

• Foster a culture of compliance within the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• RN license is required.

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in hospice care.

• At least 3 years of experience in compliance/audit functions.
