This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Assemble a team of Senior Lending Managers and Loan Officers who will be responsible for selling Flagstar lending products and services.
• Recruit, hire, develop, lead, motivate, coach, mentor, and retain high-quality loan officers.
• Oversee sales activities and facilitate skills-development and product training sessions.
• Cultivate relationships with referral sources to generate mortgage leads.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of products, guidelines, and pricing strategies while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Attend mandatory production meetings and complete all required Flagstar and industry training.
• Set production goals and sales strategies for Senior Lending Managers and Loan Officers.
• Execute sales programs and strategies to achieve sales objectives.
• Formulate strategies and meet productivity and cost targets.
• Analyze data to assess local market potential and recommend business plans for home lending branches in the area.
• Address file and customer escalations, assisting in the resolution of loan processing and closing challenges.
• Ensure operational efficiency and accuracy across policies, procedures, compliance, origination, audits, work schedules, and branch operations.
• Confirm that loans are offered and sourced according to Flagstar guidelines for sale in the secondary market.
• Conduct talent management duties, including hiring, evaluations, staff development, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance oversight.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
• Adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Travel 50% of the time.
• A High School diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC) or foreign equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in leading, managing, motivating, and developing a Loan Officer team to achieve or surpass assigned goals in a results-oriented environment.
• NMLS certification is required.
• Must comply with SAFE Act requirements, which include successfully completing required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier for the NMLS.
• An undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent) is preferred.
• A strong ability and desire to recruit, coach, and mentor loan officers.
• Excellent skills in sales presentations and marketing.
• Familiarity with conventional and/or government guidelines.
• Understanding of processing, underwriting, and/or closing procedures.
• Capability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and propose financial alternatives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and multitasking abilities.
• Professional and effective interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft applications.
• Experience using laptop technology for communication and accessing credit and loan status information.
• Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide tailored client solutions.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
