Home Infusion Nurse

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Initiate, design, and execute fundamental nursing care plans and treatments while assessing patient progress.

• Deliver direct patient care in the homes of patients or at alternate infusion locations.

• Conduct treatments and administer medications as prescribed.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers with a focus on a patient-centered approach.

• Adjust treatment plans in response to changes in patient conditions and physician directives.

• Evaluate and re-evaluate patient needs and physical conditions during each visit.

• Obtain and clarify physician orders, promptly reporting significant changes in patient conditions.

• Prepare clinical documentation in real-time and ensure submission within set timelines.

• Coordinate discharge planning and prepare discharge summaries with close supervision.

• Adhere to agency operations, company policies, professional standards, regulations, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.

• Utilize computers and automation technologies for order validation, care communication, and managing assigned visit schedules.

• Address patient requests and initiate emergency protocols as necessary.

• Protect confidential patient and proprietary information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Explain Naven Health’s services and associated care plans to patients.

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of paraprofessionals in home settings.

• Engage in multidisciplinary conferences, mentoring, training, and nursing on-call duties as assigned.

• Perform additional related tasks as directed by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.

• A minimum of 0–2 years of experience in infusion nursing is required.

• Current CPR certification is mandatory; an in-person class is required according to company policy.

• Proven competency in patient care standards and infusion skills pertinent to agency programs.

• Advanced certification and training as applicable.

• Valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice.

• Access to a vehicle for business travel with proof of liability insurance.

• Basic understanding of computer operating systems and software applications.

• Capability to utilize nursing technology tools for communication and documentation of care.

• Ability to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, with a maximum lifting capacity of 75 pounds.

• Competence in performing physical activities such as walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.

• Fine motor skills and visual acuity, including near and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, hazardous substances, needles, chemicals, adverse weather, animals, and unpredictable home settings.

• Must utilize required safety equipment, including closed-toe shoes, face masks, goggles, gowns, gloves, and a working communication device.

• Willingness to travel 100% of the time for business purposes.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing school is preferred.

• At least 1 year of previous RN experience in a home health or acute care environment is preferred.
