This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.
• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for high school students.
• Tailor learning and differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels.
• Enhance course content utilizing authorized synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Manage the grade book and ensure student academic integrity is upheld.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and inform administrators of any performance issues.
• Prepare students for important standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students, parents, and learning coaches.
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular and instructional support, as well as basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school-related events.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Active state teaching license is necessary.
• Tennessee Certification is a must.
• Candidates must be able to secure a Tennessee Teaching License before starting employment.
• Ability to pass the required background check.
• Capacity to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours.
• Willingness to attend in-person professional development, testing, and other school functions.
• Experience with the targeted age group is preferred.
• Familiarity with supporting both adults and children in using technology is desirable.
• Background in teaching online/virtually or in a traditional classroom is beneficial.
• Experience with online learning platforms is advantageous.
• Capability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
