This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Customize learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on students' mastery levels
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with students, families, learning coaches, and parents
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Manage the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues
• Collaborate with colleagues to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Utilize student data to inform instructional decisions
• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school events
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Required Oklahoma High School Social Studies Teaching Certification
• Must reside in Oklahoma
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Capability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during work hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4
• Experience working with the specified age group is preferred
• Experience assisting adults and children in using technology is preferred
• Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or traditional classroom setting is preferred
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred
• Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
• Generally work from home
