High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning experience

• Customize learning and differentiate teaching methods based on student proficiency

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to achieve set learning objectives

• Enhance course content with synchronous and asynchronous tools under the direction of the principal and coach

• Manage the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placements and promotions, and notify administrators of any performance issues

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments

• Build a positive relationship with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Active High School 4-8 Generalist or Science Certification

• Residency in Texas is required

• Bachelor's degree

• Current state teaching license

• Ability to pass a required background check

• Capability to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during standard work hours, typically 9-5 or 8-4

• Preferred experience with the relevant age group

• Preferred experience in supporting both adults and children with technology

• Preferred experience in online, virtual, or traditional classroom teaching

• Preferred experience with online learning platforms

• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data for instructional purposes

• Desired proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
