This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver designated high school mathematics curriculum in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, assistance, and direction while overseeing the learning experience.
• Customize learning and differentiate instruction based on individual student proficiency.
• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Enhance course materials with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of any performance concerns.
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events.
• Must be a resident of Michigan.
• Michigan Teaching Certification is required.
• High School Math endorsement is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Active state teaching license is necessary.
• Ability to pass a required background check.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during the workday, typically 9–5 or 8–4.
• Experience with the intended age group is preferred.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology is preferred.
• Experience teaching in an online/virtual setting and/or in a traditional classroom environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data is preferred.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
