This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Facilitates dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Dedicated to personalizing education for every student.
• Holds a strong belief in the potential of all students to excel and achieve high standards.
• Tailors instruction based on individual student mastery levels.
• Enhances course materials according to established guidelines and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with support from the principal and coach.
• Manages the grade book to uphold student academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and informs administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Recognizes the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships with families, regularly communicating with and responding promptly to students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional challenges, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting in accordance with academy policies and procedures.
• Travels as necessary (averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student assessments, and other school-related requirements.
• Bachelor's degree AND
• Valid state teaching license AND
• Capability to pass the required background check.
• Experience working with the designated age group.
• Proficient in assisting both adults and children with technology usage.
• Background in teaching in an online (virtual) setting and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers to analyze and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data, using it to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Capable of adapting to change to ensure positive student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Committed to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.

• This position is conducted virtually.
• The ability to work independently, typically requiring 40+ hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) as defined by the school.
