Healthcare Advocate, Medical Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage high-impact medical billing and insurance cases from start to finish

• Evaluate whether procedure, diagnosis, and modifier codes on an EOB align with the services rendered

• Detect coding discrepancies and escalate or dispute them with the relevant parties

• Act as an advocate for users by diligently advancing their cases

• Clearly communicate with users, setting expectations and providing updates on progress

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in patient/healthcare advocacy, medical billing, or health insurance

• More than 2 years of practical experience in medical billing or coding, with a solid understanding of CPT and ICD-10

• Formal coding certification (CPC, CPC-H, or similar) is advantageous but not mandatory

• Comfortable interacting directly with provider offices, health insurers, and debt collection agencies

• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and handling of PHI is essential
