Head of Machine Learning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Develop the vision, architecture, and strategic roadmap for ML/AI at Solidgate — a genuine greenfield initiative rather than a mere maintenance transition.

• Assemble and lead a team by integrating new hires with existing engineers who possess extensive knowledge of payments.

• Create a real-time ML decision-making system that has a direct impact on revenue.

• Establish a recommendation engine and other ML-driven functionalities that enhance merchant conversion rates and revenue.

• Implement advanced AI technologies to foster innovation.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and the Data Platform team (responsible for ML Ops) to tackle challenging modeling challenges and construct coordinated training and analytics pipelines.

• Effectively communicate complex findings to diverse audiences, ranging from engineers to executives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in machine learning.

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling an ML function — you have engaged in founding-level work, rather than merely contributing to an existing team.

• Strong foundation in data science, holding a master's or PhD in a quantitative field.

• Practical experience in designing and conducting experiments, including A/B testing and experimentation design.

• Proficient in feature engineering on high-cardinality transactional data.

• You take initiative, leading projects from conception to production, and effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
