Head of Engineering – Options

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand a team of approximately 7 engineers focused on Options Engineering.

• Bring practical experience in systematic options trading, preferably encompassing options market-making, automated quoting, execution, and risk management.

• Take ownership of and enhance an existing Rust-based systematic options trading platform.

• Provide robust technical guidance across trading infrastructure, system architecture, performance, reliability, and risk management controls.

• Tackle complex engineering and trading system challenges with a pragmatic approach.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders in trading, quantitative analysis, product development, risk management, and infrastructure.

• Balance technical leadership with interpersonal leadership, accountability for deliverables, and operational integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in systematic trading, options market-making, or low-latency trading systems.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Rust, C++, or C.

• Willingness to achieve deep proficiency in Rust, if not already accomplished.

• Strong comprehension of algorithmic options trading, covering automated quoting, execution, pricing, risk management, and market data workflows.

• Experience in building or maintaining low-latency trading systems, ideally within options or derivatives markets.

• Familiarity with SQL databases in production settings, with a preference for PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of functional testing, component testing, and validation practices suitable for production environments.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, service boundaries, and production reliability.

• Strong knowledge of gRPC and experience with Node.js-based services is preferred.

• Prior experience with cryptocurrency exchange connectivity and/or FPGA technologies is highly desirable.
