This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and direct Mozilla’s global editorial strategy for Mozilla.org and its associated digital platforms.
• Collaborate with communications teams throughout the Foundation and Mozilla’s subsidiaries to create content frameworks that ensure narrative alignment and development.
• Position Mozilla.org as the definitive “front page” for Mozilla by curating, commissioning, and publishing diverse content from within the organization and beyond.
• Supervise the redesign and continuous development of Mozilla.org as an engaging storytelling platform.
• Work across the entire Mozilla portfolio to gather insights and align content that promotes our key narratives.
• Identify and highlight stories that showcase Mozilla’s extensive ecosystem impact.
• Guarantee consistency and coherence of narrative across a varied portfolio.
• Curate, remix, and distribute content in various formats, including articles, essays, op-eds, videos, social media posts, newsletters, and experimental media, enhancing Mozilla’s external presence to exceed the sum of its parts.
• Serve as a unifying force among decentralized social leads within the Mozilla family, collaborating to establish a cohesive strategy for Mozilla’s social platforms with an emphasis on reach, engagement, and relevance.
• Create and manage an editorial calendar that aligns with significant moments (e.g., reports, launches, global events).
• Initiate and expand new content channels and verticals focused on themes such as AI, open-source, and digital sovereignty.
• Oversee the annual State of Mozilla report, collaborating across the portfolio to develop a dynamic and influential product.
• Shape and amplify Mozilla’s voice on crucial issues, including open-source AI, trust, and the future of the internet.
• Collaborate with communications and policy teams to produce and curate materials that shape public discourse (op-eds, speeches, essays, campaigns).
• Ensure Mozilla authentically connects with channels frequented by key audiences (developers, policymakers, media, public audiences).
• Transform complex technical and policy topics into clear, compelling narratives for broad audiences, addressing a critical need for Mozilla.
• Outstanding editorial judgment and taste, capable of serving as a “front page editor” by curating essential content and making decisive choices in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to function as a curator/conductor across platforms, merging ideas, formats, and voices into unified, impactful storytelling.
• Strong leadership skills across organizations, including diplomatic leadership—able to guide through influence rather than authority in a complex, matrixed setting.
• Service-oriented perspective, viewing Mozilla.org not merely as a platform to manage, but as a collective asset supported in service of teams throughout Mozilla.
• Profound understanding of modern content ecosystems (social, video, newsletters, web) and the factors that drive reach, relevance, and cultural impact.
