This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• - **Manage the Talent Pipeline:** Supervise the rotation curriculum and technical onboarding systems that convert entry-level graduates into high-impact Analysts and Analytics Engineers. You will empower your Data Operations Leads to implement this curriculum on a daily basis.
• - **Strategic Recruitment:** Direct the selection and onboarding process for regional Data Operations Leads while managing the data-driven recruitment engine that filters a high volume of campus applications to secure top-tier talent.
• - **Define Technical Standards:** Develop the Sun King Data Standard, ensuring every graduate achieves mastery in SQL, LookML, and the business logic required for specialized roles.
• - **Service Accountability:** Establish the global strategy for the Data Desk. While your regional Leads handle daily ticket assignments, you will be accountable for overall SLA performance, output quality, and the health of escalation pathways.
• - **Operationalize Quality:** Collaborate with the Data Product team to outline high-level SOPs. You will guide your Data Operations Leads in testing these procedures to confirm they are practical for the junior workforce.
• - **Systemic Automation:** Spearhead the transition of manual tasks into automated self-service tools by partnering with the Engineering Hub. Your objective is to provide the Data Product team with high-quality assets that alleviate the support burden on the desk.
• - **Management of Regional Leads:** Offer mentorship and professional development to the Data Operations Leads. You will ensure they are effectively utilizing their squads and maintaining technical rigor across all cohorts.
• - **Hands-On Mentorship:** Although your focus is on the system, you will stay close to the technical work. You may not create executive dashboards daily, but you will oversee their development and participate in troubleshooting and fixing code when pipelines or logic fail.
• **Empowerment over Centralization:** Success is evaluated based on the speed at which you graduate talent and how effectively you enable the Data Product team to implement new tools through the Data Ops infrastructure.
• - **Education:** A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or pedagogical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Education.
• - **Professional Experience:** 6–8 years of experience in data, with a minimum of 3 years as a senior practitioner and substantial experience in a technical training, enablement, or "skip-level" management role.
• - **Technical Proficiency:** Expert-level knowledge of SQL and LookML, along with a comprehensive understanding of AWS-based environments including Redshift, S3, and Glue.
• - **Leadership Style:** A proven history of prioritizing team growth and competence over personal technical achievements.
• **Operational Grit:** Experience in managing service queues and designing scalable training or recruitment workflows.
