This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.
• Take ownership of the Fabric data plane that encompasses certified data and semantics utilized by agents and BI applications.
• Ensure that certified data products incorporate semantic definitions, data contracts, policy and entitlement metadata, agent identity, lineage, observability, and certification tiers.
• Deploy agents responsible for generating metadata, resolving entities across domains, scoring quality, and classifying unstructured content.
• Manage certified, versioned data products and semantic models in collaboration with domain owners and stewards.
• Supervise the Asset Registry, lineage, and data-quality indicators.
• Develop foundational structures for lakehouse, vector, and graph retrieval to support grounded agent behavior.
• Oversee AI Data Engineers assigned to pods.
• Guide the design, development, and implementation of modular data models, data pipelines, and data management frameworks.
• Set data engineering priorities and steer the development of scalable data solutions.
• Establish standards and processes to ensure data reliability, efficiency, quality, compatibility, and accessibility.
• Provide both technical and organizational leadership for data platforms and tools that support analytics, data science, predictive and prescriptive modeling, and automation.
• Manage project execution, cross-functional collaboration, talent development, and the ongoing enhancement of data engineering capabilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant functional areas.
• At least 10 years of experience in formally or informally leading people, projects, and/or programs.
• Proven track record in building enterprise data platforms that support production AI systems, beyond just analytics.
• Experience with semantic layers, ontologies, or large-scale knowledge representation.
• Deep understanding of modern lakehouse, vector, and graph technologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or similar platforms within a multi-cloud environment.
• Experience managing data contracts, lineage, and certification models in a regulated or quality-focused industry.
• Exposure to life sciences or GxP is a significant advantage.
• A strong curiosity about AI, including its possibilities and challenges.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and purposeful toolkit innovation.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence.
• Capability to tailor communication from bench scientists to Board members.
• Preference for utilizing AI to automate curation instead of scaling through headcount.
