This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define, own, and approve the strategy, standards, decision framework, and roadmap for enterprise data architecture.
• Hold the authority for architectural approval over enterprise data designs.
• Lead the development of enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical data models across various domains including clinical, patient, provider, encounter/visit, payer, financial, operational, and workforce.
• Establish standards for Bronze and Silver layer architecture, encompassing schemas, naming conventions, change-data-capture, audit metadata, retention, and handling of PHI.
• Oversee data quality and validation processes for enterprise data products.
• Direct MDM Data Stewards in resolving identity matches and discrepancies in master data.
• Model conformed silver-layer entities, addressing grain, keys, relationships, history, effective dating, and reconciliation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Technical Data Analysts and enterprise data modelers.
• Integrate Technical Data Analysts into domain data-product teams from the discovery phase through implementation validation and consumer acceptance.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Analytics and functional analytics teams on use cases, analytical queries, and metric requirements.
• Convert analytical use cases into actionable silver-layer designs and acceptance criteria.
• Work alongside Data Engineers on source discovery, feasibility studies, and considerations for physical implementation.
• Validate the implemented silver-layer products against approved logical designs.
• Set standards for documentation, metadata, lineage, traceability, reconciliation, and known-use limitations.
• Approve modifications to enterprise data models and conduct formal architecture reviews.
• Define the technical architecture for master and reference data.
• Establish interim model-decision and stewardship mechanisms until enterprise Data Governance is fully implemented.
• Collaborate with Data Platform Engineering on Snowflake, dbt, CI/CD, environments, observability, access control, and reusable frameworks.
• Measure and enhance model reuse, analytical fitness, design-cycle time, implementation rework, architectural consistency, and consumer satisfaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, data warehousing, technical data analysis, or enterprise information management.
• More than 10 years of experience with healthcare data.
• At least 5 years of experience in leading and managing data architecture, data governance, or data management teams.
• Extensive expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, canonical and conformed data structures, data grain, history, and cross-domain integration.
• Experience in translating analytical inquiries and expected consumption patterns into reusable enterprise data model designs.
• Profound experience in source-system discovery, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation requirements, reconciliation, and implementation acceptance criteria.
• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams responsible for cloud data warehouse pipelines.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks.
• Robust understanding of transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Familiarity with healthcare data domains including clinical, patient, provider, encounters/visits, payer, financial, or operational data.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, and master/reference data practices.
• Capability to lead through influence across Data Engineering, Enterprise Analytics, business functions, Platform Engineering, and executive stakeholders.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills for technical and analytical audiences.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred: experience with Redshift-to-Snowflake or major platform modernization migrations.
• Preferred: experience in organizing delivery around durable business domains or data products.
• Preferred: experience in leading an architecture or modeling chapter embedded within cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: experience in regulated healthcare environments that support HIPAA, HITRUST, or similar requirements.
• Preferred: experience with identity resolution, master/reference data architecture, semantic layers, interoperability standards, or AI-ready data foundations.
• Preferred: comfort in hands-on operations during initial function build-out.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, and hear; frequently walk; and lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
