This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the content team and take ownership of the editorial vision, strategy, and roadmap for Thrive's evidence-based health and wellbeing content.

• Manage and mentor a team of writers, editors, and content creators, with the potential to expand the team over time.

• Establish and uphold editorial standards for accuracy, credibility, tone, and scientifically-backed quality across all content formats.

• Develop systems, workflows, and an editorial calendar that empower the team to produce high-quality content at scale.

• Collaborate with product, brand, partnerships, and customer success teams to ensure that content fosters engagement, behavior change, and achieves business objectives.

• Write, edit, and produce impactful content, which includes webinars, articles, video scripts, product descriptions, Microsteps, and courses.

• Act as the senior editor for the team's most significant projects, providing line edits, ensuring scientific credibility, and enhancing the quality of every published piece.

• Oversee the daily execution of priority content from conception to publication, including the management of your own deadlines and deliverables.

• Promote the Thrive brand voice across all content, both internal and external.

• Advocate for the effective and responsible use of AI in content creation, personalization, and distribution.

• Represent Thrive to customers, partners, and at industry events as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in content, editorial, journalism, and/or branded content, including leadership roles.

• Proven track record as a player-coach — leading a team while also creating high-impact content.

• A portfolio showcasing high-quality content across various formats and measurable impact on audience growth or engagement.

• A strong passion for health and wellbeing, with experience in translating complex scientific topics into accessible, trustworthy content — health, wellbeing, and behavior change experience is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated capability to build and lead a content team, including hiring, developing, and managing writers and editors.

• Strong editorial judgment and a relentless commitment to quality, coupled with the operational discipline to deliver consistently and respond to customer feedback.

• Proficiency in content performance metrics, SEO, and audience analytics to guide editorial decisions.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to align content strategy with product, marketing, and commercial goals.

• Demonstrated interest in AI tools and their potential to responsibly enhance content workflows.

• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
