This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Serve as a reliable compliance advisor to business leaders, offering practical, risk-oriented guidance on intricate regulatory and governance issues.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the European Compliance Programme.
• Carry out compliance risk assessments and formulate yearly compliance plans that align with business goals and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with business and legal teams to establish effective compliance policies, controls, and governance processes.
• Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory authorities and assist in regulatory engagement across various European jurisdictions.
• Provide strategic compliance insights into business initiatives, change programs, and cross-functional projects.
• Prepare and deliver compliance updates, reports, and key risk insights to Boards, committees, and senior leadership teams.
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively identify emerging compliance risks and opportunities.
• Foster a robust culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability through communication, awareness initiatives, and training programs.
• Aid in the implementation of global compliance policies, including anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and other regulatory responsibilities.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of compliance professionals, encouraging collaboration and ongoing professional development.
• Collaborate closely with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to achieve effective compliance outcomes across the region.
• Extensive experience in Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Legal, or Governance functions, preferably in sectors such as insurance, healthcare, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance requirements relevant to regulated organizations.
• Proven experience in developing and executing compliance programs, policies, and risk management frameworks.
• Capability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization.
• Experience operating across multiple countries, jurisdictions, or international business contexts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, or developing teams.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with robust analytical and decision-making capabilities.
• High levels of professional integrity, sound judgment, and accountability.
• Ability to balance compliance requirements with commercial and operational objectives.
• Professional Compliance qualification or relevant industry certification.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in additional European languages, such as French, Dutch, or Spanish.
• Experience in engaging with regulators or assisting with regulatory inspections and reviews.
