This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Ensure PESL's continuous adherence to regulatory obligations, including the VASP license.
• Cultivate and sustain trust-based relationships with CBI.
• Supervise the enforcement of emerging regulatory mandates, such as AMLR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1624), and manage horizon scanning.
• Collaborate closely with the CCO, PESL CEO, and team members on initiatives to guarantee alignment in products, services, and risk management.
• Work alongside the business to expedite the market introduction of products and services.
• Drive operational efficiencies by adopting an automate-everything approach.
• Offer compliance advisory support and guidance to the PESL Board regarding new and existing regulations, operational performance, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Oversee the Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Create, implement, and operationalize policies and procedures to align with MiCA, AML, and other pertinent regulations.
• Prepare documentation for license applications to expand products and services.
• Act as a reliable partner to Product, Design, Engineering, and other teams, helping them structure and launch compliant products and services that further Payward’s business objectives.
• Assess product risk evaluations, marketing materials, complaints, and other aspects for regulatory compliance.
• Design and deliver compliance training programs tailored to Irish/EU and future regulatory requirements, ensuring employees remain knowledgeable about their duties and monitoring their compliance.
• Promote a culture of compliance awareness and accountability through ongoing communication and training initiatives.
• Extensive senior compliance experience in a prior leadership role at a regulated crypto exchange, payments firm, MiFiD investment firm, MTF, or bank.
• Proven track record of using technology, including automation, to enhance regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with implementing EU markets and traditional finance regulations.
• Experience in managing interactions with regulatory bodies.
• Executive presence, with the ability to significantly influence PESL’s conduct and confidently present to executives and boards of directors.
• Knowledge and experience related to VASP registrations.
• Experience overseeing complex, global compliance initiatives.
• Proven capability to analyze risks effectively and apply sound judgment promptly.
• Practical understanding of compliance risk management strategies.
• Proactive and strategic, comfortable with navigating uncertainty.
• Strong leadership presence in compliance teams.
• Strategic experience in financial crimes and markets compliance.
