Head of Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and enhance the company's global compliance framework across all relevant jurisdictions.

• Establish and uphold policies, standards, controls, governance forums, and reporting routines.

• Lead comprehensive compliance risk assessments across the enterprise and maintain the compliance risk register.

• Define processes for monitoring, testing, and issue management to identify, escalate, and address compliance gaps.

• Provide regular updates to the Head of Legal and the executive team regarding compliance risks, incidents, trends, and progress on remediation efforts.

• Oversee the company's compliance strategy concerning data protection and privacy requirements—including GDPR and other relevant privacy obligations—in collaboration with Legal and Security.

• Serve as the senior GRC lead for customer due diligence, regulated-sector questionnaires, control reviews, and audit requests.

• Develop and manage the compliance aspects of third-party risk management—including vendor assessments, subprocessors, outsourcing controls, and ongoing monitoring.

• Ensure GRC readiness for external assurance frameworks and certifications, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and related control programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a GRC, compliance, risk, governance, or regulatory assurance role.

• Background in a B2B SaaS, fintech, regtech, payments, or other technology environments catering to regulated customers.

• Proven track record of building or scaling a compliance or GRC function within an international organization.

• Strong working knowledge of privacy regulations, control frameworks, policy governance, audit coordination, and third-party risk management.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-level customer due diligence and audits.

• Excellent judgement and stakeholder management abilities—comfortable engaging with senior and executive levels.

• Capability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on.
