Head of AI Solutions – Engineering, Technology & Innovation

📋 Description

• In order to further Teach For All’s 25-year vision, we are looking for a strategic AI leader developer to join our Technology & Innovation team. This individual will operate on a global scale to pinpoint and implement transformative technology solutions that enhance the impact of our worldwide network.

• This position will collaborate with partners or groups of partners throughout the network to identify and deliver innovative AI-driven technology products that boost network effectiveness, while also working internally to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.

• The ideal candidate will be tasked with fostering and building a community of technology enthusiasts within the network, comprised of staff members, fellows, and alumni who will contribute to these initiatives.

• The Technology & Innovation Team offers thought leadership and solutions, alongside foundational support in leveraging technology to unlock potential and amplify impact throughout the organization and the global network.

• You will have a pivotal role in this endeavor.

• Your responsibilities will include identifying and delivering essential AI-driven technologies for network partners to assist in their efforts. These may involve tools for shared needs across the network—such as classroom data collection, professional development for fellows, scheduling and managing Assessment Centers (where teaching fellows are selected), or new platforms (connectivity tools, online learning)—which will be identified and defined in collaboration with our network partners. Many, if not all, of these technologies will incorporate AI elements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, and/or equivalent years of formal training and experience, demonstrating a clear history of delivering AI-forward solutions in various contexts.

• Over 7 years of relevant experience, including the design and delivery of AI-powered solutions, with a proven portfolio that showcases high-impact, scalable implementations across diverse environments.

• Extensive experience with AI libraries and frameworks, along with proficiency in Typescript and Python.

• Experience integrating REST-based APIs, particularly with popular Generative AI APIs and libraries.

• Essential proficiency in Git and other version control systems, with a demonstrable ability to effectively manage code repositories, track changes, and collaborate with team members utilizing branching, merging, and pull request workflows.

• Capability to design user-friendly and engaging user interfaces and experiences.

• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies, including Google Cloud.

• Comfort and experience in working with emerging technologies.

• Involvement in open-source development projects and communities.

• Understanding of working with technology in bandwidth-limited environments.

• A passion for Education, AI, and Educational Technology.

• Proven history of driving technology projects from inception to completion.

• Strong business analysis skills, communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple diverse stakeholders.

• Sensitivity to diversity in backgrounds and beliefs (e.g., racial, cultural, socioeconomic, political, etc.).
