This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• You will conceptualize and enhance the framework for AI agents, automation workflows, LLM integrations, and RAG (knowledge retrieval) systems. Your focus will be on ensuring that our systems are scalable, reliable, and thoroughly integrated into intricate business workflows.
• You will lead through active participation. This includes contributing to the codebase by developing AI toolchains, event-driven automation, and decision systems that work with real ERP data.
• Collaborating directly with the founder, you will identify opportunities for automation. This role involves validating solutions with actual customers to ensure that our AI addresses genuine business challenges rather than merely being "innovative technology".
• You will recruit and mentor a small, elite team of builders, responsible for nurturing a pragmatic, high-velocity engineering culture and eliminating technical obstacles.
• Acting as the internal authority on AI, you will collaborate with Product and Engineering departments to integrate AI capabilities and educate stakeholders about the potential and limitations of the technology.
• You have a proven history as a Staff/Principal Engineer or Technical Founder, excelling at the intersection of Architecture, Product, and Team Leadership.
• You bring extensive experience in backend system architecture, distributed systems, and API design. Your proficiency in LLM orchestration, AI agents, and data pipelines is exceptional.
• You understand business workflows intuitively. You can swiftly transition from a conceptual idea to a production-ready implementation, always considering the customer’s process.
• You lead through technical example rather than mere administration. You know how to attract "strong builders" and balance the urgency for speed with the necessity of long-term system quality.
• You prefer practical building over theoretical discussions. You are comfortable with uncertainty, highly focused on execution, and curious about simplifying complex business processes.
• You are fluent in both English and German.
• Flexible Work Environment: Enjoy the option to work remotely across Europe or from our office hubs in Augsburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, and Lohne (Oldenburg), along with adaptable working hours.
• Competitive Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits: Attractive salary packages and a generous leave policy that includes 28 annual leave days, special leave days, and nursing care days. Our rich benefits package also includes a monthly voucher for various providers, covering options such as Urban Sports Club, grocery stores, entertainment, and lifestyle services. Furthermore, we provide all employees with state-of-the-art home office equipment and offer a 50% subsidy on private pension plans for permanent employees in Germany.
• Professional Growth & Development: Benefit from a substantial budget dedicated to learning and personal development, which supports your career growth and lifelong learning.
• Inclusive & Engaging Culture: Participate in both virtual and in-person company events, as well as our annual culture connect days, promoting a collaborative and vibrant company culture characterized by minimal hierarchies and respectful communication.
• Diverse & International Team: Work alongside a multicultural and international team spread across 17 different work locations in Europe and representing 32 nationalities, embracing diversity and a global outlook.
• Mental Health & Well-being: Access comprehensive, evidence-based mental health resources, including 24/7 counseling, therapy placement, on-site support, and legal and financial guidance to help you excel both at work and in life.
