This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.

📋 Description

• Develop, refine, and uphold Smartcat’s AI strategy to reinforce our dominance as the premier Language AI platform for enterprises.

• Lead with a forward-thinking vision regarding the future of AI, predicting industry trends and establishing robust tech intellectual property and defensibility that align with the company's strategic goals.

• Focus on three high-impact areas over the coming year:

• Language AI Quality: Smartcat consistently delivers superior quality in AI-generated translations and content for enterprise clients, leveraging ongoing feedback from their employees to enhance AI performance.

• You will spearhead the creation of a systematic technological framework for AI quality customization, utilizing use case-specific AI agents integrated with our platform and data layers.

• Redesigning Product Experiences: Collaborating with the UI/UX and other product teams, you will reimagine every existing product experience and use case with an AI-first mindset, prioritizing quality enhancements, turnaround speed, and innovative user interactions.

• AI-Driven Customer Lifecycle: You will oversee the development of an AI-driven customer lifecycle product within the Smartcat platform, harnessing real-time data on user intent and in-product actions to provide exceptional, tailored onboarding and support experiences.

• You will continue to build and lead a team of top-tier AI/ML engineers, cultivating a culture of innovation, urgency, and customer focus.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience as an Engineering and Product leader, with a minimum of 2 years managing an AI/ML unit in a tech company.

• A profound understanding of the current landscape of ML and AI, paired with an innate passion and curiosity to remain at the forefront of the rapidly changing AI domain and foster innovation within it.

• Proven experience in creating and executing a strategic AI roadmap while inspiring and aligning a team.

• A strategic mindset coupled with a proactive approach to recognizing opportunities and challenges.

• Proficient in effectively presenting and communicating at the executive and board levels.

• Prepared to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment that demands intense focus, a strong sense of ownership, and the persistence to achieve breakthroughs.

• Open to constructive feedback and receptive to the ideas and opinions of others.

• Strong preference for candidates residing on the East Coast, particularly in the Boston or New York area, although other locations will be considered for the right candidate.

• Native-level proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
