HCC Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, analyze, and code patient medical records according to client-specific guidelines for the project.

• Adhere to ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines and interpret these guidelines to ensure accurate code assignment.

• Comply with Risk Adjustment Data Abstraction Rules.

• Follow guidelines specific to the client and project.

• Required to maintain a quality score of 95% or above.

• Expected to uphold ongoing productivity levels as dictated by project requirements.

• Ensure personal adherence to all privacy and security regulations and commit to safeguarding all Company confidential information, including, but not limited to, Personal Health Information.

⛳️ Requirements

• All coders MUST possess certification from either the AAPC or AHIMA. (Apprenticeship designations are not accepted.)

• Acceptable credentials include CPC, CRC, COC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P.

• Must have a minimum of 1 year of HCC experience along with at least 1 year of coding experience on the job.

• Should have working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMRs, billing systems, and abstraction platforms.

• Must possess a phone, a reliable internet connection, and current coding resources such as ICD-10-CM coding references.

• Team members must be capable of working from home and demonstrate independence in their coding skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Outlook, is required.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
