This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee the daily creation of visual enhancements for Law360’s editorial written content.
• Collaborate with editors and reporters to enhance articles and features through the use of photos, videos, charts, and other suitable visual content.
• Work closely with the data team on expansion initiatives and graphics for new surveys and rankings.
• Produce photos, charts, videos, and various graphics for Legal News.
• Combine written and visual content effectively.
• Stay informed about current events and Law360's budget to identify visual opportunities.
• Compose photo captions, chart headlines, summaries, and other content that contribute to visual storytelling.
• Partner with editors to establish and refine visual standards for the Law360 website.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or graphic design, along with 2+ years of experience in a newsroom.
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong command of HTML and CSS.
• Basic knowledge of video editing.
• Familiarity with Excel or other spreadsheet applications.
• Prior experience in graphics and video production for online platforms.
• Experience in programming and/or advanced front-end web design skills, including JavaScript.
• Up-to-date knowledge of trends in web publishing technologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to work efficiently across various departments within the organization.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Datawrapper, D3, Tableau, Mapbox, or Carto.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, R, or OpenRefine.
