This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Foster and sustain productive relationships with a designated group of graduate students.
• Keep abreast of the research interests, career ambitions, and engagement history of portfolio members.
• Offer pertinent student and research insights to internal stakeholders to guide programming, placement strategies, and network expansion.
• Perform regular digital outreach (e.g., emails, virtual meetings) to enhance engagement and maintain relationship continuity.
• Take charge of executing around 10-12 programs annually for PhD students.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define program topics, select speakers, and oversee invitations.
• Assist with logistics, communications, and follow-up activities related to assigned programs.
• Monitor participation and outcomes to inform future program decisions.
• Engage in cross-functional meetings to share insights from the portfolio and contribute to program enhancements.
• Work closely with the Intellectual Talent Development team to ensure cohesive engagement strategies.
• Attend academic conferences, prospecting events, and similar gatherings to establish connections with graduate students and broaden the network.
• Represent IHS and its graduate engagement initiatives at pertinent events.
• Be prepared to travel up to approximately 20% (around 10 or more events annually) to aid portfolio development and recruitment efforts.
• Keep precise records of student engagement within CRM systems.
• Support a data-driven approach to engagement by monitoring key activity metrics and outcomes.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of engagement workflows and processes.
• Professional background in higher education, academic administration, nonprofit programming, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in managing multiple projects or programs with clear timelines and deliverables.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and tracking engagement metrics; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities tailored to academic audiences.
• Proven capacity to distill information from various sources and convey insights effectively.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team setting.
