This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and direct Dandy’s global tax strategy, focusing on indirect tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and international tax planning.
• Develop and implement scalable tax frameworks to facilitate rapid international growth while optimizing the company’s global effective tax rate and reducing tax risk.
• Lead all facets of indirect tax strategy and compliance, encompassing VAT, GST, sales tax, digital services taxes, and associated international consumption tax issues across various jurisdictions.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance teams to evaluate the tax effects of new products, pricing strategies, operational processes, legal entities, and geographic expansion plans.
• Create and uphold transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and relevant documentation to guarantee compliance and operational efficiency in global operations.
• Manage global tax compliance processes, which include corporate income tax filings, indirect tax submissions, registrations, estimated payments, audits, and statutory reporting obligations.
• Coordinate and oversee external tax advisors, consultants, and service providers worldwide, ensuring high-quality execution, timely deliverables, and alignment with Dandy’s business goals.
• Serve as the primary internal tax business partner and liaison between external advisors and internal stakeholders, ensuring tax considerations are integrated into operational and strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the development of tax accounting processes, quarterly tax provision support, and documentation necessary to meet public-company readiness standards.
• Collaborate with external auditors and facilitate all tax-related audit requests, documentation, and technical accounting analyses.
• Establish scalable tax processes, controls, and documentation frameworks to accommodate a high-growth environment and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Keep abreast of changes in global tax legislation, regulatory developments, and emerging international tax trends to proactively evaluate business impacts and opportunities.
• Provide support to executive leadership and future Audit Committee discussions through tax strategy presentations, risk assessments, and board-level reporting.
• Assist with entity structuring, cross-border cash movement strategies, customs considerations, and various international operational tax matters as the company scales globally.
• Work comfortably in both strategic and tactical capacities — including hands-on execution of registrations, filings, reconciliations, and operational tax workflows as needed.
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including substantial leadership roles in international tax and indirect tax matters.
• In-depth knowledge of global indirect tax regimes, including VAT/GST, sales tax, nexus, digital services taxes, and cross-border transaction flows.
• Extensive hands-on experience in multinational or globally expanding businesses with intricate international operations.
• Strong expertise in transfer pricing strategy, intercompany transactions, and international tax structuring.
• Proven experience in building or scaling tax infrastructure in dynamic, multi-entity, cross-border environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of US corporate income tax, international tax concepts, and tax implications of global legal entity structures.
• Experience in managing external tax advisors and Big Four firms across various jurisdictions.
• Ability to distill complex tax concepts into actionable business guidance for cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and constructing processes, systems, and controls from the ground up.
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple simultaneous initiatives and deadlines.
• Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and robust operational follow-through.
• Ability to function effectively both strategically and in a hands-on manner within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience engaging with senior leadership, auditors, and board-level stakeholders.
• CPA, MST, JD, or an equivalent advanced tax credential is strongly preferred.
