This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
• Oversee payroll operations and review the work completed by payroll processors.
• Collaborate with HR and external payroll service providers to enhance payroll processes.
• Identify potential areas for process improvements and recommend steps for implementation.
• Provide HR with essential data and information for analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
• Partner with accounting to enhance the quality and accuracy of data used in reporting and analyzing employee-related costs.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local government regulations and filings.
• Act as the primary contact for our global workforce regarding payroll inquiries.
• Support projects that require payroll input, including the implementation of HRIS systems and benefits programs and policies.
• Supply data required for annual and periodic reporting that necessitates disclosure of compensation information for company executives in SEC filings.
• Provide guidance to management on payroll and employee tax implications concerning equity incentive plans.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll issues on a global scale.
• Implement and ensure adherence to controls that support SOX compliance within the payroll process.
• Over 10 years of hands-on payroll experience.
• A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role supervising payroll personnel.
• Direct experience with ADP Workforce Now (ADP – WFN).
• Experience in managing or overseeing international payrolls (UK, Australia, Singapore, and Canada).
• Background in implementing SOX controls within the payroll process.
• Experience in selecting and collaborating with external payroll service providers.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven ability to engage in strategic planning and prioritize tasks for a payroll department.
• Track record of enhancing processes and solving problems effectively.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a talent for coaching and motivating teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
• Recent experience in a fast-paced tech company environment is advantageous.
