This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the governance and implementation of global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and external expert engagement across various therapeutic areas and/or species.

• Establish and operationalize a compliant KOL ecosystem that fosters scientific exchange, evidence generation, advisory insights, and coordinated regional engagement.

• Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, Global Portfolio Marketing, Commercial, R&D, Diagnostics, and regional/local teams.

• Support and continually enhance a global KOL data repository in Salesforce.

• Propel process improvements for planning cycles, insight capture, and stakeholder satisfaction.

• Develop KOL AI profiling capabilities within Salesforce.

• Implement and uphold KOL engagement governance, which includes adherence to SOPs, transparency reporting readiness, contracting, documentation, and audit trails.

• Create KOL profiles and engagement strategies.

• Collaborate with regions to confirm KOL prioritization and local relevance.

• Sustain a global KOL strategy that aligns with therapeutic-area priorities, product lifecycle needs, and scientific communication plans.

• Formulate annual KOL engagement plans that encompass segmentation, objectives, channels, cadence, and resource allocation.

• Identify and prioritize scientific engagement opportunities, including congresses, symposia, publication initiatives, advisory boards, speaker programs where permissible, and digital engagements.

• Establish a closed-loop KOL insights process from capture through to action completion.

• Define KPIs and dashboards and leverage analytics to enhance segmentation, engagement mix, and resource allocation.

• Act as the global point of contact for KOL management.

• Provide guidance and support to regional/local KOL owners on tools, standards, and best practices.

• Foster cross-functional alignment across Medical, Commercial, Diagnostics, Marketing, R&D, and external communications.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree (DVM, PhD, or MSc) in a relevant scientific discipline is highly preferred.

• 3–5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, scientific engagement, or related life sciences roles.

• 3+ years of experience in KOL/external expert management.

• Proven experience in planning and executing compliant HCP/KOL engagements at country, regional, or global levels.

• Strong understanding of industry compliance requirements, including HCP interactions, transparency, FMV, contracts, and privacy.

• Experience in a global or matrixed role across multiple geographies is preferred.

• Familiarity with KOL/CRM tools, stakeholder mapping methodologies, and analytics-enabled engagement measurement is preferred.

• Experience in designing insight-to-action processes and governance is preferred.

• Strategic stakeholder management and the ability to influence without authority.

• Cross-cultural effectiveness and a global mindset.

• Capability to operate in ambiguous situations.

• Scientific/clinical literacy combined with strong business acumen.

• Exceptional facilitation and advisory board leadership skills.

• High attention to detail, documentation discipline, and operational rigor.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Willingness to travel 20–30% of the time.
