This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Remain informed about applicable laws and regulations.
• Investigate and analyze regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas that require remedial action.
• Manage and execute regulatory initiatives, ensuring the upkeep of regulatory systems requirements.
• Take ownership of project governance and operational rhythms; facilitate effective communication, reporting, and reviews.
• Monitor and research newly proposed regulations, as well as updates to local municipalities, state, and federal laws.
• Act as the primary contact for government investigations and inquiries.
• Create and conduct comprehensive educational and training programs centered on regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Guide functional teams or projects that involve moderate levels of resources, risk, and complexity.
• Present business solutions to leaders within the functional area.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field;
• Over 8 years of progressive professional experience in tax, regulatory compliance, controllership, payroll governance, labor & employment compliance, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of direct leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and navigational leadership during organizational change.
• Proven experience in interpreting and operationalizing federal, state, local, and international regulations, effectively translating legal requirements into scalable business policies, processes, and controls.
• A demonstrated history of managing regulatory or compliance programs from start to finish, including gap assessments, remediation strategies, implementation, and ongoing oversight.
• In-depth understanding of tax compliance across payroll, benefits, equity, pension, deferred compensation, and mobility, including obligations for both employees and employers.
• Experience in closely collaborating with Legal, Labor & Employment, Payroll, HR, Finance, Data Privacy, and external advisors to ensure regulatory conformity and risk management.
• Proven ability to design and deliver training and educational programs pertaining to compliance, regulatory changes, or governance for a variety of stakeholder groups.
• Capability to analyze intricate data, policies, and regulatory developments, recommending pragmatic, business-aligned solutions.
• Experience supporting global or multinational workforces, addressing cross-border employment, mobility, and data privacy issues.
