GL Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Journals: record all month-end journal entries including payroll accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and intercompany transactions.

• Intercompany accounting: ensure accurate intercompany balances are maintained across all GX entities and that reconciliations are finalized at month-end.

• FX revaluation: perform the monthly foreign exchange revaluation across all multi-currency balances and document the resulting gains or losses.

• Bank reconciliations: finalize and authorize bank reconciliations for all GX entities, ensuring all items are matched and settled promptly.

• Balance sheet reconciliations: take ownership of the balance sheet reconciliation timeline, ensuring all significant balances are verified monthly.

• Management accounts support: collaborate with the Finance Manager to generate the monthly management accounts package, which includes the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

• Audit support: prepare documentation and schedules for the annual audit process.

• Continuous improvement: pinpoint and resolve ongoing reconciliation challenges, and assist in the automation of manual general ledger processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional Qualification: Part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), with a preference for those actively studying; candidates with substantial technical expertise may be considered if qualified by experience.

• Technical: A robust understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end closing procedures is essential.

• Ledger Management: Proven experience in posting journal entries, completing bank reconciliations, and managing balance sheet accounts within a multi-currency context.

• Systems Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel and accounting software; capable of creating and maintaining reconciliation schedules.

• Methodical and detail-oriented: This position demands an individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean ledger.
