This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main point of contact for the acquisition and quality management of geospatial data.
• Spearhead initiatives to acquire, validate, and integrate new geospatial datasets.
• Establish and implement QA/QC protocols to ensure data accuracy, metadata quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the delivery of geospatial data in accordance with Government timelines and specifications.
• Coordinate strategies for high availability and disaster recovery for data systems.
• Monitor geospatial systems and deploy automated backup and recovery solutions.
• Manage access control along with the automation and compliance of Data Use Agreements (DUA).
• Offer 24/7 on-call technical support for incidents and system-related issues.
• Maintain and publish the HIFLD Data Catalog with precise and updated metadata.
• Create and revise SOPs and documentation regarding data management processes.
• Investigate and apply federal standards and best practices in data governance.
• Lead the development of proof-of-concept geospatial products utilizing DHS or GMO platforms.
• Write white papers with suggestions for enhancing data processes and tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for geospatial demonstrations, briefings, and exchanges.
• Assist in software renewals, license management, and interconnectivity agreements.
• Over 7 years of proven experience in supporting geospatial data management and publishing for federal government initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of geospatial sciences, which includes:
• Cartography and spatial visualization
• GIS systems and geospatial platforms
• Data symbology and standardization
• Metadata development and governance
• Demonstrated capability to support or lead projects of similar size and scope in a government context.
