Geospatial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Perform spatial analyses to evaluate the effects of activities on natural ecosystems and resources, aiding in management, conservation, disaster recovery, and restoration strategies.

• Assist in the development of data based on analytical findings, client requirements, and project specifications.

• Create and sustain spatial datasets, workflows, and analytical tools to enhance land management reporting and monitoring.

• Produce reporting materials to facilitate inventory, accomplishment tracking, and program reporting.

• Brief stakeholders on issues such as disaster recovery, planning, biodiversity, fire assessments, climate change, and natural resource inventories.

• Offer technical assistance to end users, including troubleshooting and training.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in spatial analysis tools and geospatial workflows.

• Organize meetings with internal teams and external clients.

• Aid clients in understanding program and project requirements through technical collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

• Experience level should be appropriate for the role's responsibilities in geospatial analysis or GIS implementation.

• Proficient in Esri’s ArcGIS suite of software for Desktop, mobile, web, and enterprise applications.

• Background in LiDAR data processing and the creation of derivative products.

• Familiarity with Web GIS tools, workflows, and solutions configuration via Esri, MS PowerApps, and VertiGIS.

• Strong grasp of spatial data concepts including spatial projections, coordinate systems, data formats, LiDAR, raster, and imagery.

• Experience with Python scripting for data processing, analysis, and automation.

• Prior involvement in technical geospatial projects that support natural resources or land management initiatives.
