This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Conduct investigations into claims made against insurance or other entities regarding personal, casualty, or property losses or damages.
• Manage complex losses independently up to designated authority levels and provide assistance on larger claims.
• Address accounting-related losses, including business interruptions and inventory issues.
• Review claim submissions and documentation to ascertain insurance coverage.
• Engage with claimants and witnesses through interviews, phone calls, or written correspondence.
• Consult police and hospital documentation as necessary.
• Assess property damage to evaluate the company's liability extent.
• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.
• Compile findings into reports and negotiate settlements with claimants.
• Recommend litigation through the legal department when settlements cannot be reached.
• Attend litigation proceedings as required.
• Update case reserves within assigned claims files.
• Assist in creating loss experience reports and determining sufficient future rates.
• Perform additional assigned tasks and contribute to organizational quality initiatives.
• Travel as necessary.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
• The IIA-AIC designation is required, with active pursuit of another professional insurance designation.
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including the Microsoft Office suite.
• A demonstrated commitment to timely reporting is essential.

• Ability to drive for up to 4 hours daily.
• Frequent use of manual dexterity is required.
