• The General Accountant V is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to effectively track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities.
• Ensures that entries to ledger accounts are accurate and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts with the general ledger.
• Maintains financial records while ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded appropriately.
• Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
• Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and various financial reports.
• May provide guidance or review the work of support staff as necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating accounting records and files.
• Reconciles bank statements, including the updating of daily bank feeds.
• Conducts month-end and year-end closures efficiently.
• Maintains the integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepares documentation for audits.
• Develops various Balance Sheet schedules, including Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accruals, etc.
• Compiles financial reporting packages for review.
• Implements new accounting policies and ensures compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
• Assists outside auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents to facilitate the annual audit process.
• Keeps up-to-date with accepted accounting practices and procedures.
• Files, prepares, and maintains tax compliance documentation across all states related to FCTI business.
• Streamlines the entry and processing of vendor invoices and payments to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Generates and distributes client billings on a monthly and semi-monthly basis, fostering strong client relationships and ensuring consistent cash flow.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel, with strong spreadsheet capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles is crucial.
• Previous experience in a similar role, such as a General Accountant, is desirable.
