General Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete customer invoicing workflow utilizing Ordway.

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding their invoices.

• Drive efforts for customer credit collections.

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations using Xero to maintain precise financial records.

• Process vendor invoices and create payment batches.

• Prepare manual journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

• Ensure prompt month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Collaborate with an external local firm to prepare and submit Dutch VAT reports on behalf of the company.

• Assist in the development of routine and on-demand financial analyses and reports.

• Support the annual budgeting process.

• Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, and other departments to guarantee efficient financial operations and enhance customer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 3-5+ years of experience in general accounting, ideally within a small to medium-sized business setting.

• Proficient in Xero accounting software.

• Familiarity with Ordway for customer invoicing is highly advantageous.

• Strong grasp of Dutch VAT regulations and reporting processes.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Success, etc.).

• Excellent analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Capable of working autonomously and taking charge of responsibilities in a compact finance function.

• Quick to learn with a proactive and optimistic attitude.

• Comfortable handling a range of tasks, from senior-level reporting to junior-level activities such as payment processing.

• Exceptional communication skills in both English and Dutch (preferred but not mandatory).
