GCP Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee GCP infrastructure across essential services such as Compute, networking, IAM, storage, and GKE.

• Facilitate and implement migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud settings into GCP, utilizing both lift-and-shift and replatforming techniques.

• Develop and manage infrastructure with Terraform to guarantee consistent, scalable, and production-ready deployments.

• Diagnose infrastructure and application performance challenges while pinpointing opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cloud cost management.

• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and client stakeholders to ensure effective delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps roles.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with GCP in production settings, possessing a solid understanding of Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, and storage solutions.

• Experience in executing cloud migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud environments into GCP.

• Capability to work autonomously in a contract or client-facing delivery setting.

• Strong experience with Terraform is preferred.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, especially GKE, is highly beneficial.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Linux systems and robust networking principles.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and scripting using Python or Bash.

• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and best practices for cloud cost optimization.

• Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments is advantageous.

• A relevant Google Cloud certification is required.

• Proven experience working with GCP in live production environments.
