Gateway Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain automation workflows for API gateways.

• Generate configuration-as-code artifacts and integrate developer portals.

• Construct reusable onboarding patterns and capabilities for the API lifecycle.

• Guarantee the effective functioning of components implemented on the gateway side.

• Engage in hands-on engineering aimed at modernizing the API lifecycle and enabling developer self-service.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in API, integration, middleware, application platform, backend engineering, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of practical experience with API gateways or API management platforms.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON/XML, HTTP/S, TLS, API versioning, and API documentation.

• Proven experience in implementing API security measures such as OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, SAML, mTLS, API keys, RBAC, token validation, scopes/claims, and certificate-based patterns.

• Proficient in scripting or automation using technologies like Python, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, Groovy, YAML, JSON, Terraform, Helm, or similar.

• Experience with Git-based workflows and practices related to configuration-as-code.

• Capability to create technical documentation, validation evidence, and materials for operational handoffs.
