Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Developing PLC/HMI code for the control of various electro-mechanical systems using control descriptions, I/O lists, electrical schematics, and drawings.

• Supporting Field Commissioning and Service Technicians with the start-up and troubleshooting of applied programming.

• Collaborating with the engineering team to create electrical, instrumentation, and control products and systems that meet specific customer requirements, contracts, and drive new business opportunities.

• Creating, reviewing, and modifying electrical schematics, drawings, and I/O lists for various electro-mechanical systems to ensure adherence to engineering standards and customer specifications.

• Providing timely status updates to management regarding the progress of assigned projects.

• Offering technical guidance to the Purchasing department on electrical components, equipment, software, and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering or a related discipline.

• 6-9 years of relevant experience and/or training.

• Over 4 years of experience in PLC and HMI design and programming for industrial equipment used in machine control.

• Proficiency in using SCADA systems.

• Capability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Familiarity with all Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD software.

• Certification as a Siemens, Horner, and/or Allen Bradley PLC programmer is preferred.
